Shannon M. Smurthwaite

Shannon McClary Smurthwaite grew up in Los Angeles, California. The oldest of three daughters, Shannon loved spending time at her Italian grandmother’s side. She attended Cal State Northridge and Brigham Young University, studying art and design. She is married to, author, Donald S. Smurthwaite. They are the parents of four wonderful children and have seven sweet grandbabies. She enjoys her design work, freelance writing and creating in the kitchen. Mormon Mama Italian Cookbook is her first cookbook (Cedar Fort publishing). She has been featured in dozens of print and online newspapers and magazines as a food columnist. She resides in Meridian, Idaho and enjoys serving as President to Boise Music Week, a century old non-profit. She also produces an all-city Interfaith Christmas Concert, endorsed by the Mayors office and benefiting the Meridian Food Bank each December.
